SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Charlotte, N.C. tomorrow afternoon to race in the Royals Challenge hosted by Queens University.

Times: 4:15 p.m. (Men's 8k – Blue Race), 5:05 p.m. (Women's 5k – Gold Race)

Women's Notes:

• This will be the second away meet of the season for the women. They are going into this race after finishing 3^rd in one of the biggest races in the country, the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic.
• At the classic, the team's 5k average was a 19:38, a new record for the program.
• Lauren Beatty placed 5^th overall with a time of 18:51.3, a college PR for the freshman and also the 2^nd fastest sub 19:00 5k for the Valkyries. This time allowed Beatty to clinch the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week award.
• Ruth Spijker PRed with a time of 19:26.9, moving her up to the 5^th fastest 5k time in the record books. Kamille Dixon's time of 19:49.4 puts her at 7^th overall in 5k school history.

Men's Notes:

• This is also the second away meet of the season for the men. At last weekend's Live in Lou Cross Country Classic, the men's team finished with an overall average of 27:43 in the 8k race which is a new program record.
• Freshman Jaxon Wright PRed with a time of 27:29.7, the second fastest time in school history.
• Ethan Lee followed closely behind at 27:37.1 which is a PR for him and moves him up to the 4^th fastest time in the Converse books.
• Four more Valkyries set new personal records: DreQuan Guyton (27:56.2), Johnny Nunez (28:45.0), Aiden Ayala (29:08.8) and Spenser Kirby (29.20.9).
• Wright's time allowed him to be awarded the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week award.
