SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After a week of no competition, the Converse University men's and women's cross country programs will be back in action this weekend as they race in the D2 Festival Year Showcase by The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Women's Notes:
- This will be the third away meet of the season for the Valkyrie women and the last meet before the team races in the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships.
- In their last race, the Royals Challenge, the women finished 15th overall in the gold 5k race with a new program record time of 19:31.
- Lauren Beatty was the top finisher for the team with a time of 18:31.4. This time was a 5k season best for her by 20 seconds. This time is only seven seconds off the school record.
- Kamille Dixon followed closely behind with a time of 19:16.7, a new personal record for her and the fourth best time in school history.
- Ashley Sosa and Bayley Robinson each ran season bests while Chloe Chandler and Kristi Gallagher each had new personal records.
Men's Notes:
- This will also be the third away meet of the season for the Converse men and their last meet before the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships.
- In the Royals Challenge, the men competed in the blue 8k race, finishing 6th overall with an average time of 27:55.
- Zackery Carver finished inside the top 25 at 27:15.6, a new personal record for the freshman and the second fastest time in school history.
- Sam Bagwell set a new personal record at a time of 28:25.8.
