BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Converse University field hockey team climbed to their highest ranking ever, claiming the No. 6 spot in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll following a dominant win over Coker last week.
The Valkyries are currently 8-0 on the season and 5-0 in South Atlantic Conference action this year. Last week the Valkyries defeated Coker 6-2 at home, as
Lotte Kanters (Loosdrecht, Netherlands) recorded a hat trick in the win over the Cobras.
Catalina Pistaccio (Buenos Aires, Argentina),
Kilee Bradeen (Bradley, Maine) and
Lara Toranzo (Lima, Peru) all added goals in the win, while
Luisa Fasold (Wolfenbuttel, Germany) and
Caroline Blair (Penfield, N.Y.) each added a pair of assists.
Kanters currently leads the nation in goals per game (2.25) and points per game (5.00), meanwhile, Fasold currently leads the nation in assists per game (1.00). Pistaccio is second in the nation in points per game (2.88) and fourth in the nation in goals per game (1.12).
As a team the Valkyries lead the nation in assists per game (3.88), goals per game (5.12), points per game (14.12), scoring average (5.12), scoring margin (4.50) and winning percentage (1.000)
