Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Converse lacrosse team dropped a Conference Carolinas contest to nationally ranked Limestone 23-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
Converse (3-9, 2-4) struggled to find any space in the Saints defense getting off six shots with four on target. Aubrie Lauderdale (Greenville, S.C.) scored the lone goal for the Valkyries.
#8 Limestone (7-2, 3-0) started off the contest striking just 11 seconds into the contest. Within the first minute of the game, the Saints led 2-0. The Saint lead grew to 8-0 just eight minutes into the match.
The Valkyries was able to get on the board with 19:42 left in the first half off the goal from Lauderdale for the lone goal to make it 8-1.
Limestone continued their attack to take a 16-1 lead into the half. The Saints continued their momentum into the second half scoring seven more goals to take the match 23-1.
Converse will return to the field on Friday April 1 to take on Shepherd in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Opening draw is at 3pm.
