RALEIGH, N.C.- Converse went into the break tied at four apiece before Meredith used a 12 goal second half to take the match 16-7 in non-conference lacrosse action on Friday afternoon.

Converse (0-3) opened the scoring in the second half and taking the lead 5-4 on a Chelsea Worrell (Orlando, Fla.) goal.  Meredith (2-0) responded with five goals to take a commanding 9-5 lead.  Aubrie Lauderdale (Greenville, S.C.) aided the Valkyrie attack with an unassisted goal to stop the bleeding.

Meredith continued their attack scoring seven of the final eight goals with the lone Valkyrie goal coming from Laura Starkes (Whitby, Ontario).

Worrell opened the match with a goal just 1:39 into the match on an unassisted goal.  Meredith countered with three goals of their own before Deena Kasmarik (Suwanee, Ga.) scored on a free position attempt.

As time was winding down in the half Elizabeth Gabriele (Simpsonville, S.C.) gave the Valkyries the momentum going into the half scoring an unassisted goal with 2:16 before the break.

Worrell led the Valkyries with two goals, while Lauderdale, Gabriele, Madison Butler (Tampa, Fla.) and Kasmarik tallied one goal apiece.  Starkes tallied two assists in the loss.

Converse continues its road trip heading to Laurinburg, N.C. to face St. Andrews, Saturday, Feb. 21 with first draw at 1pm.
