Lacrosse Shows Strength Against #2 Pfeiffer

The Valkyries kicked off their lacrosse season at home against # 2 Ranked Pfieffer University on Saturday. The team showed a lot of potential throughout the match, sticking with Pfeiffer University near the end of the first half and beginning of the second half.

Freshman Lacey Bevilacqua was the first to score for Converse, and continued on to ad another goal and assist before the end of the game. Teammate Bridget Dullea had a hat trick on the day scoring two goals in the first half and one in the second. Not far behind was teammate Brooke Bondurant adding two of her own goals.

Freshmen Molly Donaghue stood in goal for the Valkyries with great leadership and composure, having 15 saves on the day.

The Falcons jumped out to a 5 - 11 lead going into the second half. Pfeiffer dominated at drawl control winning 25 drawls. Converse did help themselves, with 4 penalties causing them to be a man down for total of 12 minutes of play.

"I was very proud of the team. With a group of complete freshmen starting, we kept up with a very good and experienced opponent. The future for this group looks promising and I'm excited to be coaching them," said head lacrosse coach Julie Redman.

Converse's next game is March 6 at home against Fort Lewis College.
