SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University cross country teams both finished eighth overall in the annual Converse Kickoff held at Milliken Research Park this morning.
 
The women's team finished ahead of Lenoir-Rhyne, Belmont Abbey, Ferrum, King, Emmanuel, Allen and Claflin on Saturday morning. The men's team finished ahead of Mars Hill, Belmont Abbey, King, Ferrum, Emmanuel, Allen and Claflin.
 
Women's Notes:

• Ines Pierrefitte finished first for the Valkyries and set a new personal best in the 6k event with a time of 24:31.1. The sophomore finished 44^th overall in the event.
• Evie De Roos (25:02.9) and Zarya Mines (25:03.8) finished second and third on the team, and 59^th and 60^th overall in the race.
• Sara Aguiar Torre finished fourth on the team with a time of 25:17.0 and placed 65^th overall.
• Alyssa Skory placed fifth on the team and 78^th overall with a time of 26:06.3.
• Peyton MacMillan and Paisley Stepp finished close behind in 80^th and 82^nd place. Mackenzie Crandell placed 86^th overall and Hailey Jones placed 99^th overall in the event.

 
Men's Notes:

• Ander Vera Moleres finished first for the Valkyries and placed 23^rd overall with a new personal best time of 25:33.5 in the 8k event.
• Alex Porter finished second on the team and 56^th overall with a new personal best time of 26:16.4.
• James Hook finished third on the team and 66^th overall with a personal best time of 26:33.5.
• Lucas Boulakia finished fourth on the team and 98^th overall with a time of 27:30.7. and Reece Evans finished fifth on the team and 105^th overall with a time of 27:51.0.
• Benjamin Notarangelo placed 107^th overall, followed by Hunter Heron in 127^th place, Marti Ruiz Barreda in 131^st place and Jayden Finney in 134^th place.
• Cameron Bybee placed 137^th overall, Ethan Lyon placed 160^th overall, Wyatt Grier finished 166^th overall and Isaac Bullock placed 187^th overall.
