Women’s Swim Team Picked to Finish Seventh in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced the 2026-27 women's swimming & diving preseason coaches' poll on Thursday afternoon, Converse University was picked to finish seventh overall.
 
The Valkyries tallied 44 total points in this year's preseason poll, finishing ahead of King, Mars Hill, Barton and Chowan. Wingate was picked to finish first with 105 total points and seven first place votes. Catawba finished second with 80 total points and two first place votes and UNC Pembroke placed third with 73 total points and one first place vote. Carson-Newman was picked to finish fourth and Emmanuel and Lenoir-Rhyne tied for fifth.  
 
Kate Hollingsworth (Clemson, S.C.), Maya Guevara (Long Beach, Calif.) and Mayle Iwanski (Evans, Ga.) were all picked as preseason players to watch by the Conference. Guevara and Iwanski both helped the Valkyries relay team to a third place finish at Conference last season.
