SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University equestrian athletes
Halle Aho and
Lani Pardue are headed down to Savannah tomorrow for the IHSA Zones Show.
This is the second straight season the Converse equestrian team has had an athlete reach Zones. Last season,
Sarah Lawler reached Zones after finishing second in the intro flat event. Since the 2021-2022 Equestrian Season the Valkyries equestrian team has now sent six athletes to Zones.
Aho made it to the Zones show after winning the Intro flat event at IHSA Regionals last month. Parude won the Intermediate Fences event to qualify for Zones. This is the first time since the 2021-2022 season that the Valkyries have sent more than one rider to Zones.
If either Aho or Pardue qualify for the Nationals round, they will become the first Converse equestrian riders to advance to the final site since Madison Montgomery advanced in the Spring of 2022.
