Valkyries Falter Against UVA Wise

WISE, VA. – The Converse University Lacrosse team fell 16-3 on Friday evening to the UVA Wise Cavaliers.

With the loss, Converse drops to 1-1 overall on the season, while UVA Wise improves to 3-0 on the season. The Valkyries fell behind 6-0 after the first 15 minutes of action. Following a seventh straight goal by the Cavaliers, Zoey Jacobs found Becky Reinhard for her 10th goal of the season. UVA Wise scored four more goals in the period and went into the halftime break up 11-1.

With a woman up opportunity five minutes into the third quarter, Hailey Obenchain scored the Valkyries second goal of the contest. Obenchain scored the final goal for the Valkyries with 1:14 left in the third period. UVA Wise added three more goals in the fourth quarter to finish with 16 goals on the evening.

  • The lacrosse team will stay on the road this week with a trip to Tusculum on Tuesday evening.
