Esports Excels in Fall 2025 Competitions

SPARTANBURG, S.C.Competing in four games across nine leagues, the Converse esports team reached new heights in multiple games.

Graduate student Jacob Cummings won the Collegiate iRacing League (CIL) Collegiate Sportscar Challenge, finished second in the CIL Formula College and finished third in CIL College Cup Series. Across all three series, Cummings won four races and finished top five in 17 races.

The Converse Overwatch squad completed an undefeated season in the Peach Belt, winning the tournament title with a run that saw them not drop a game, winning the three tournament matches by a combined score of 10-0. They have now qualified for the College Esports Commissioner's Cup, which brings 16 of the top placing teams in the nation, happening in Waco, Texas at the end of spring semester. The Overwatch team also placed 10th in the National Association of College Esports (NACE) Varsity Premier.

The Converse League of Legends team finished fifth in the National Esports Collegiate Conference Division I and sixth in NACE Varsity Premier. The Valorant team placed 26th in NACE Varsity Premiere.
