Converse enters the season selected sixth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll. It is the Valkyries' highest finish in the preseason poll since being selected to finish fourth in back-to-back years prior to the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The Valkyries finished the 2024 campaign 9-7-3 and won their first postseason game since 2016.
Seniors Jasmine Hernandez and Savannah Mellon and junior Hannah Liebig were tabbed as Preseason Players to Watch.
Hernandez was the team's top scorer last season, accounting for 17 points on eight goals and an assist. Liebig was the team's second-leading scorer with 13 points on six goals and an assist.

Newberry Notes:

Newberry was selected ninth in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason Poll. They posted a 6-6-4 record and finished the season 1-6-4 over their final 10 games.
The Wolves had no selections to the SAC's Preseason All-Conference team.
Senior defender Emily Castaneda, sophomore midfielder Bella Gonzalez, sophomore midfielder Mikaela Warburton and senior midfielder Ella McDevitt were all named SAC Preseason Players to Watch.
The team's leading scorer from last season, now-sophomore midfielder Bella Gonzales, returns to the pitch for the Wolves. She tallied 10 points on five goals during the 2024 campaign.
