SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's soccer team (0-2) fell to the Clayton State Lakers (1-1-1) by a final score of 3-0 Wednesday night at Weisiger Stadium.

While the teams were even on shots in the first half, Clayton State capitalized on two of them, netting goals in the 11th and 27th minutes.

While Converse attempted more shots in the second half, 8-5, Clayton State iced the game with an 81st minute goal.

The Valkyries begin Conference Carolinas play on Saturday, Sept. 13 as they host the Mount Olive Trojans at Weisiger Stadium. The match is set to begin at 3:30 P.M.
