CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Converse University equestrian team had a great showing this weekend at the College of Charleston Showdays as they celebrated Senior Day this past Saturday.
Olivia Liopiros won the Zone 5 Region 3 Sportsmanship Award for the 2024-2025 equestrian season. A total of 11 schools make up the region and the award is chosen out of every rider in the region.
During the show, Liopiros finished second in the open flat event,
Sarah Lawler finished second in the pre novice flat event, and
Sydney Duda finished third in the novice flat event.
Sydney Shipp won the intermediate fences event and
Halle Aho won the intro flat event.
This will conclude the regular season for the Converse equestrian team, the Valkyries will be back in action February 28
th – March 1
st in the IHSA Regionals. This season the Regional Showday will be hosted by Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.
