HARTSVILLE, S.C. –  The Converse women's basketball team dropped their nonconference game to the No. 8 Coker Cobras by a final score of 103-52 Saturday at the DeLoach Center on the campus of Coker University.

With the loss, Converse falls to 1-11. Coker improves to 10-1.

Senior Tatiana Brown led Converse in scoring with 15 points.

How It Happened
Coker raced off to an early lead in the first quarter, peaking at a 10-point lead with 7:11 remaining in the quarter. The Valkyries fought back to cut into the lead and senior Emma Kanz hit a jump shot with just under two minutes remaining in the opening frame to get the lead down to just three points, 17-14. Coker scored four more points the rest of the quarter and took a 21-14 lead into the second quarter.

Coker put up 34 points in the second quarter and 24 in the third quarter, taking a 79-29 lead into the fourth quarter.

Converse tallied 23 points in the fourth quarter, the team's best quarterly performance of the game. Coker scored 24 points in the quarter and won 103-52.

• Brown led the Valkyries in scoring with 15 points. She shot 5-15 from the field and 5-7 from the charity stripe.
• Freshman Madison Fileen tallied 14 points, setting a new career high.
• Kanz snagged a team-high six rebounds in her first game since Nov. 19.
