Cross Country Sets Sights on Southeast Regional

The Race:
Men's 10K & Women's 6K

General Notes:

The meet will be hosted by Wingate University at the Wingate XC Facility.
The following schools are set to compete at the event with a full team: Anderson, Augusta, Belmont Abbey, Carson-Newman, Catawba, Clayton State, Columbus State, Converse, Emmanuel, Emory & Henry, Flagler, Georgia College, King, Lander, Lees-McRae, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, Mars Hill, Mount Olive (women only), Newberry, North Georgia (women only), North Greenville, Southern Wesleyan (women), UNC Pembroke, USC Aiken (women), USC Beaufort (men), UVA Wise, Wingate and Young Harris.
The following schools will be represented by individual runners: Coker, Southern Wesleyan (men) and USC Aiken (men), USC Beaufort (women).

Men's Notes:

Sophomore Alex Porter has finished first for the Valkyries in three of the team's four races this season.
Fellow sophomore Ander Vera Moleres won the Converse Kick-Off back in September.
The Valkyries finished second at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Friday, Oct. 24. It is the team's second-best finish at the championship behind only last year's runner-up finish.
Converse placed 10th at the Bulldog Stampede hosted by Wingate on Sept. 20. The men ran a 7K in that race.
The Valkyries will run their first 10K of the season on Saturday.

Women's Notes:

Freshman Evie De Roos has anchored the team in every race this season. She has finished first amongst the Valkyries in all four races this season.
The Converse women finished second at the Conference Carolinas Championship. It is the team's second straight season finishing runner-up and the fifth consecutive year the Valkyries have finished inside the top three.
Converse finished 7th at the Bulldog Stampede on Sept. 20.
The Valkyries will run their fourth consecutive 6K of the season on Saturday.
