How It Happened
After freshman Madison Fileen stole the ball on the game's opening possession, senior Mazie Helpman recorded the game's first basket to put Converse up early. The Valkyries held that lead until a Claflin layup put them up 7-6 with 6:56 remaining in the opening quarter. Converse got the lead back less than a minute later as senior Andrea Gutierrez Ciordia drained a layup. When Claflin regained the lead with 4:29 remaining in the quarter, it was the final time the lead changed hands. They ended the quarter on an 11-0 run to go up 18-8 heading into the second quarter.

The Valkyries didn't score their first basket in the second quarter until there was 3:31 remaining in the first half, putting the score at 32-10. Converse ended the half on a 6-2 and Claflin led 34-14 at halftime.

The Panthers narrowly outpaced the Valkyries in the third quarter, adding just one point to their lead in a 10-minute, 19-18 run. Brown accounted for 11 of the Converse's points in the quarter and scored over half of her total in the game in the third quarter. Claflin led 53-32 heading into the final quarter.
