HARROGATE, TENN. – The Converse University field hockey team fell 2-1 to Lincoln Memorial on Friday evening.
With the loss the Valkyries drop to 8-8 overall and 5-5 in South Atlantic Conference action. Lincoln Memorial finishes the regular season with a 6-11 overall record and a 3-7 South Atlantic Conference record.
In the opening quarter the Railsplitters came out strong and out shot the Valkyries 5-2 in the opening period. Lise Holla found the back of the net twice for Lincoln Memorial as they took a 2-0 nothing advantage into the second quarter of action.
After the opening period, Converse controlled the game on both the offense and defensive side of the ball. The Valkyries outshot Lincoln Memorial 17-2 in the final three quarters and held the Railsplitters shotless in the second half.
Just three minutes into the fourth quarter
Kilee Bradeen kept her scoring streak alive with a goal off a penalty stroke. Converse ran out of time before completing the comeback, the Valkyries finished with 13 shots on goal and 12 penalty corners in the match.
