Valkyries Draw Against Trailblazers in 2025’s Penultimate Game

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – In the team's final road contest of the season, the Converse University women's soccer team (5-9-3, 4-6-2 Conference Carolinas) drew with the North Greenville Trailblazers (4-9-3, 4-5-3 Conference Carolinas) by a final score of 1-1 Tuesday night.

The Valkyries attempted 21 shots in the game while allowing North Greenville to attempt 12. Converse doubled the Trailblazers' five shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Julia Salo recorded her second career complete game in goal. She allowed one goal on 12 shots faced, five of which were on goal.

Despite the imbalance in shots, North Greenville struck first with a goal early in the seventh minute.

Senior forward Skylar Lund dribbled straight past three defenders and the goalkeeper for a tap-in goal in the 16th minute, evening the score 1-1.

Following the goal, Converse attempted seven shots to round out the first half, three of which were on goal, but were unable to score again.

Six of the Valkyries' 12 shots in the second half were on goal, but none found the back of the net as the teams tied 1-1.
