Women’s Soccer Draws in Scoreless Match Against North Greenville

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie against North Greenville on Saturday afternoon at Weisiger Stadium.
 
The Valkyries are now 5-4-2 overall this season and 3-1-2 in Conference Carolinas action. Meanwhile, North Greenville improves to 1-7-3 overall and 1-5-2 in Conference Carolinas play.
 
In the first half the Trailblazers were the more aggressive team, outshooting the Valkyries 6-3. North Greenville also attempted a pair of corner kicks in the period. However, two of the Valkyries three shots in the half challenged the North Greenville goalie.
 
The second half of the game was similar to the first as the Trailblazers once again outshot the Valkyries 6-3 in the period. North Greenville attempted a total of four corner kicks in the second stanza, while the Valkyries attempted a pair of corner kicks in the half.
 
Hannah Liebig and Jasmine Hernandez both led the Valkyries with two total shots on the afternoon. Hernandez and Kiersten Schrawyer were the two Valkyries that had a shot rattle the cage against the Trailblazers. Gabriella Gudeman picked up the decision in the net with a trio of saves on the evening.  
 
Next Up:
The Converse women's soccer team will be back in action this Tuesday night at Weisiger Stadium. The match against the King Tornado is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
