Converse Notes:

The Valkyries enter the game after a heart-breaking loss to Mars Hill 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
Converse played the final 25 minutes of the match down one player after a 55th minute red card was issued to freshman midfielder Paige Damuth. She is unavailable for the match against Pembroke because of it.
Despite taking one fewer shots against Mars Hill (10-9), the Valkyries took more shots on goal (8-5).
Freshman goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno recorded four saves in 90 minutes played against Mars Hill.
Saturday's match is the conference opener for both clubs.
Sophomore midfielder Skylar Lund has the Valkyries' lone goal on the season and junior forward Ellie Gore leads the team in shots taken with five.

UNC Pembroke Notes:

The Braves sat atop the Conference Carolinas preseason with 161 points, just 3 ahead of North Greenville at 158. However UNC Pembroke easily claimed the most first-place votes in the poll with nine. UNG had four and Mount Olive received the remaining vote.
Pembroke is 1-1 on the season. After a season-opening 1-0 loss to North Georgia, the Braves took their frustrations out on their next opponent, Davis & Elkins, and claimed a 6-0.
Redshirt junior forward Abigail Lowry leads the team with three goals. The hat trick came against Davis & Elkins.
Senior goalkeeper Chiara Coppin has allowed just one goal in 135 minutes played. After the Braves scored six goals in the first half of their second game, redshirt junior keeper Anna Bass played the final 45 minutes and allowed no goals. The keepers combined in the match for a shutout.
