The Valkyries suffered a 1-0 conference loss to North Greenville on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Despite shooting 23 times, seven on goal, the Valkyries held the Crusaders to just one goal. Freshman goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno recorded five saves in the match.
Nepomuceno returned to the lineup after a two-game absence following an injury. She is expected to once again start in goal for the Valkyries against Lander.

Lander Notes:

Lander is coming off of their first loss of the season on Saturday, Sept. 23. They fell on the road to the Columbus State Cougars 1-0. The Bearcats opened the season on a five-game win streak in which they outscored opponents 17-1.
The Bearcats are ranked No. 4 in the latest southeast region poll from the United Soccer Coaches. They also received votes in the national poll.
Junior forward Emma Sexton leads the scoring with 14 points split between six goals and two assists. Fellow juniors forward Alaire Hodge and midfielder Maren White are tied for second on the team with three goals each. Lander averages 2.83 goals per game and gives up an average of 0.33 goals per game.
Lander has won five consecutive games at home dating back to Oct. 5 of last season. Their last home loss, which came on Sept. 21, 2022, was to the eventual Conference Carolina champion UNC Pembroke Braves 1-0.
