Women’s Soccer Prepares for Midweek Matchup with Erskine

Converse Notes:

The Valkyries enter the game after falling to the defending Conference Carolinas champion UNC Pembroke 5-0 on Saturday.
Freshman midfielder Paige Damuth is available once again after receiving a red card in the team's matchup against Mars Hill on Sept. 6.
Converse's 13 student-athletes competing in their first season for the team have combined for 1,206 minutes on the pitch. Two of those student-athletes, freshman goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno and junior defender Giulia Rodrigues-Franceschini have competed in all 90 minutes of all three games.
Sophomore midfielder Skylar Lund maintains her 1.000 shooting percentage and shots on goal percentage with the lone goal of the season for the Valkyries. That goal evened the match with Felician.

Erskine Notes:

Erskine was ranked 14th out of 14 teams in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll. They received just 15 points in the poll, that was less than half of the team that finished 13th in the poll (39 points).
The Flying Fleet's first goal of the season came in the 64th minute against Francis Marion. The Patriots scored with just under two minutes to go to secure a victory over the Fleet.
Erskine did not return their only player to score multiple goals from last season. The Flying Fleet returned only 40% of their goals scored from 2022.
Sophomore goalkeeper Braden Johnson has allowed three goals in two games. She has played all 180 minutes in the box for the Flying Fleet.
The Flying Fleet is led by head coach Robin Smith for the ninth year.
