Converse Acrobatics and Tumbling Team Wins a Pair of Event Finals

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team won a pair of event finals on Sunday afternoon at Lander University.
 
The Valkyries were victorious and edged out Limestone with a score of 9.750 – 9.725 to take home the event championship in the Synchronized Pyramid event. Krissa Gaines won the Aerial Tumbling event championship with a score of 9.600. Gaines beat out Ryann Swope of Lander and Aniya Shazier of Belmont Abbey.
 
Converse finished runner-up in the 450 Salto Toss with a score of 8.850 and in the Open Toss with a score of 8.850. The Valkyries finished third in the Inversion Pyramid with a score of 8.725 and in the Open Pyramid with a score of 9.400. Ceanna Brown finished third overall in the Open Tumbling event with a score of 8.925.
