GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team lost 265.435 – 258.910 to No. 8 Limestone in the semifinals round of the Conference Carolinas Championships on Saturday afternoon at Lander University.
Event 1 – Compulsory
In the Compulsory event Limestone outscored Converse in every heat, with the Valkyries posting a 9.600 toss score as their highest mark of the round. Going into the second event, the Valkyries trailed by a narrow margin of 37.025 – 36.275.
Event 2 – Acro
In the Acro portion of the competition the Valkyries outscored the Saints in the 6 Element event with a score of 7.975. However, Limestone still edged out the Valkyries with a 27.300 -25.200 win in the Acro event.
Event 3 – Pyramid
In the Pyramid event the Valkyries kept it close against the Saints with scores of 9.400, 9.525 and 9.750. Once again, the Saints outscored Converse 29.300 -28.675.
Event 4 – Toss
In the toss event the Valkyries started to make a comeback against the top ranked Saints. After falling behind in the Salto Toss, the Valkyries outscored Limestone in both the Synchronized and Open tosses with scores of 8.875 and 9.175.
Event 5 – Tumbling
In the tumbling event, the Valkyries defeated Limestone head-to-head in the Aerial Pass 9.550 – 9.225 and in the Open Pass 9.550 – 9.450.
Event 6 – Team Event
In the final event of the night the Saints outscored the Valkyries 91.060 – 89.06.

Converse will compete in the Conference Carolinas Event Finals tomorrow morning at Lander University.
