STATESBORO, GA. – The Converse University Equestrian team had a great showing this past weekend and finished fifth overall on Saturday and Sunday at the Georgia Southern Showday.
On the first day of competition,
Lauryn Garaux won the Pre-Novice Flat event, while
Brooke Daniels took home second place in both the Limit Fences and Limit Flat events. The ribbons continued to come in for the Equestrian team as
Grace Baum finished second in the Open Flat event and fourth in the Open Fences event.
Heather Harris placed second in the Pre-Novice Flat event and
Neely Vander Ploeg finished runner-up in the Novice Flat event.
Josie McDevitt finished third in the intermediate flat event and fourth in the intermediate fences event. Vivan Bruce rounded out the Valkyries podium finishes with a third place in the Novice flat event.
On the second day of competition
Brooke Daniels finished third in the Limit Over Fences event,
Sydney Shipp placed third in the Intermediate on the Flat event,
Vivian Bruce placed third in the Novice event and
Heather Harris placed third in the Pre-Novice event.
Grace Baum finished fourth overall in the Open on the Flat event,
Olivia Liopiros finished 4
th in the Intermediate on the Flat event and
Lauryn Garaux placed 4
th in the Novice Flat Event.
The Valkyries next show will be on February 18
th and 19
