SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University softball team dropped two games to the Coker Cobras on Wednesday afternoon by scores of 9-0 and 10-4. The losses drop Converse to 5-5 overall while Coker improves to 8-2.
Game 1 Final: Coker 9-0 Converse (5 Inn.)
Game 2 Final: Coker 10-4 Converse

Game 1 Notes:
- Top 3 – Coker put two runs up on the board for the 2-0 lead.
- Top 4 – Coker added seven runs to their score for a 9-0 final score.
Game 2 Notes:
- Bottom 2 – Chesney Miles got a run on the board for Converse as Karleigh Crabill singled to right field. Crabill then scored as Rylee Summers reached first on an error by the Coker shortstop.
- Top 3 – The Cobras answered, putting five runs on the board and getting the three-run lead.
- Top 5 – Coker added three runs to its score as Brooklynn Stueness hit a home run.
- Bottom 5 – The Valkyries answered as Belle Roper and Victoria Dichio scored as Faith Hauser singled to center field.
- Top 7 – The Cobras added one final run to the board as Ari Fair scored.
Dichio pitched 3.0 innings in game one while Summers pitched 2.2 innings in game two. Hauser led the Valkyries in hits (2) and RBIs (2) in game two.
Next Up:
Converse will travel to Milledgeville, Ga. this weekend to play against Georgia College and Mars Hill in the Bobcat Battle on Saturday and Sunday.
