Women’s Soccer Holds Lees-McRae Scoreless on Saturday Night

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After an 8-1 shots-taken advantage in the first half of their divisional matchup with Lees-McRae Bobcats (2-6-2, 2-2-2 Conference Carolinas), the Converse University women's soccer team (3-5-3, 1-4-2 Conference Carolinas) were unable to find the back of the net in either half and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Eight Valkyries each recorded one shot, six of which were on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno recorded three saves on the only three shots on goal taken by the Bobcats.

There were just two shots taken in the final 15 minutes of the match, both saved by Nepomuceno and the scoreless game concluded.

The Valkyries are back on the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 14 as they head to Bristol, Tennessee to take on the King Tornado for the second time this season. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
