Women’s Soccer Heads To Belmont Abbey for Second Matchup with Crusaders

  • The Valkyries enter the game after an impressive 3-0 road victory over King on Saturday, Oct. 14.
  • Junior forward Ellie Gore netted two goals on four shots for her second and third goals of the season. Fellow junior forward Kiersten Schrawyer scored her first goal of the season.
  • Converse moved into a tie for second place in the northwest division with the win. The Valkyries and Crusaders will be competing for sole possession of second place on Tuesday night.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Allie Nepomuceno has allowed 13 goals in 10 games played. She has a goals allowed average of 1.30 and a save percentage of 0.797.

Belmont Abbey Notes:
  • Belmont Abbey enters the match after a 2-2 draw on the road against Mount Olive. Prior to that, they were on a two-game winning streak and have not lost since Oct. 3 against King.
  • The Crusaders forced a draw with the Valkyries after scoring an 84th minute goal. The Valkyries led the match for 64 minutes.
  • Senior forward Logan Parry leads the team in scoring with 28 points, all of which are accounted for by her 14 goals. She is second in Conference Carolinas behind Mercy Bell of UNC Pembroke who has scored 16 goals.
  • Belmont Abbey holds opponents to an average of 1.25 goals per game while scoring 3.33 goals themselves. That's the second-highest mark in Conference Carolinas behind only UNC Pembroke.
