ANDERSON, S.C. – The Converse University volleyball team dropped their opening match to Alabama Huntsville in three-sets on Thursday night, 12-25, 22-25, 12-25.
 
With the loss, Converse drops to 1-2 on the season and Alabama Huntsville improves to 3-2 on the year. As a team the Valkyries collected 23 kills, a pair of aces, four blocks, 21 assists and 31 digs.
 
Converse Leaders

• Maddie Mount and Jasmine Finkley tied for the team lead in kills with seven each. Evelyn Fitz finished second on the team with four kills in the match.
• Anna Rabon led the team with a pair of aces, while MacKenzie Schmucker posted a team high 10 assists.
• Mackenzie Day led the team with seven digs, Savannah Ducote finished second on the team with six digs and Jasmine Hamilton recorded 5 digs.
• Evelyn Fitz led the Valkyries blocking with a pair of swats on the day, while Abbey Ray and Finkley each contributed a block of their own.

 
Alabama Huntsville Leaders

• Gracie McGee led the team with eight kills, Kiara Hill contributed six kills and a trio of players collected four kills in the match.
• Colby Charland led the team with 18 assists, while both McGee and Shayla Libby added 10 digs in the match.
