The Series
This will be the second time that Converse and USC Beaufort have played each other. The first time the two teams matched up was 10 years ago on September 1, 2012 when the Sand Sharks defeated the Valkyries 1-0.

The Valkyries are 1-1 on the season after most recently picking up a home win against Glenville State on Saturday evening by a score of 1-0.
Sophomore forward Ellie Gore scored the game winning goal, assisted by Kajsa Mertens.

The Sand Sharks are also coming into this game with a win under their belt, claiming their first victory on Sunday, August 28 by a 3-0 win over Francis Marion.
Mari Kalvatn scored two goals and had one assist for USC Beaufort on Sunday afternoon. Kalvatn took six shots with four being on goal. Savanna Page scored the other goal for the Sand Sharks. She took four shots with three of them being on goal during the game.
Goalkeeper Emily Worrell played all 90 minutes, making three saves throughout the night.
