HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Converse Valkyries softball team was unable to pull out wins in the second day of the Coker Round Robin Tournament, falling to 0-4 at the tournament.
Game 1 Final: Flagler 15-1 Converse
Game 2 Final: Coker 10-1 Converse
Records: Converse (0-14), Flagler, (9-5), Coker (7-7)
Game 1 Notes:
- Top 5 – Entering the top of the 5th inning down 15-0 to the Flagler Saints, the Valkyries needed to make something happen. Maggie Griffis would walk and Brooke Scruggs would pinch run for her. Aaliyah Newman reached first on an error by the second baseman which allowed Scruggs to advance to second. Emily Ingle would walk on her at-bat, pushing Scruggs to third and Newman to second. Brooklyn McElrath would fly out to left field next, but it allowed for Scruggs to get the only run of the game for Converse.
- Serrah Ballard pitched 1.1 innings with one strikeout, Reagan Owens pitched 0.2 innings and Belle Roper pitched 2 innings.
Game 2 Notes:
- Top 4 – Starting the 4th inning down 8-0, the Valkyries were looking to put some last second runs on the board. Scruggs would reach first base on an error by the pitcher and then advance to second after Ballard got hit by a pitch. Newman doubled to right field which allowed Ballard to advance to third and for Scruggs to get the only run on the board for Converse.
- Owens (0-4) would be given the loss after pitching 0.2 innings with one strikeout. Ballard would pitch 1.2 innings with one strikeout while Belle Roper also pitched 1.2 innings.

Dallas Singleton: 3 AB, 1 H
Brooke Scruggs: 2 AB, 2 R

The Valkyries will be back in action on Monday, February 21 at Tyger River Stadium against West Virginia Tech for a doubleheader.
