SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In Monday afternoon's games, the Converse University softball team dropped two games against the West Virginia Tech Golden Bears by scores of 3-2 and 6-0.
Game 1 Final: WVU Tech 3-2 Converse
Game 2 Final: WVU Tech 6-0 Converse
Records: Converse (0-16), WVU Tech (7-1)
Game 1 Notes:
- Bottom 1 - The Valkyries started off the game on a high note as they were the first to put runs on the board. Brooklyn McElrath would walk and Grace McKinney would send her home as she rounded second but be thrown out at third. McElrath's run would be the only one that Converse got that inning.
- Bottom 5 – Being down by two runs, the Valkyries needed some hits to win the first game of the doubleheader series. Dallas Singleton would come in to pinch run for Maggie Griffis who got a single on her at-bat. Singleton stole second and would score the Valkyries second run of the game as Faith Hauser doubled to left field.
- Converse would not be able to put anymore runs on the board, dropping game one 3-2.
- Serrah Ballard (0-5) would get the loss for the Valkyries after pitching all seven innings, producing one strikeout.
Game 2 Notes:
- The Valkyries would not be able to produce any runs during game two against the Golden Bears. The team would drop this game 6-0.
- Ballard (0-6) would pick up the loss for Converse after pitching three innings. Reagan Owens pitched 1.2 innings and Belle Roper pitched 2.1 innings with one strikeout.

Converse will travel to Newberry, S.C. for the Newberry Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, February 26 and 27.
