BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – In the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas men's soccer championship, Converse punched their ticket to the final round of competition by defeating the Emmanuel Lions 4-0 in a thriller of a game.
 
Scoring for the Valkyries started early as freshman Johannes Haden put the first goal on the board off an assist from Ricky Cardozo and Tobias Bruecher in the 12^th minute. Bruecher then got a goal of his own at the 20-minute mark off a ball passed by Jaxon Keene. Both defenses locked up for the remainder of the half as neither team was successful in earning more points before the halftime whistle.
 
12 minutes after the break, Keene produced a goal of his own to give the Valkyries a 3-0 advantage over the Lions. The final goal of the evening came from a corner kick. Cardozo crossed the ball in to find Felix Frenz who headed it into the back corner of the net.
 
Kenne led the second-year program with three shots, three shots on goal, one goal and one assist during the semifinal round. Kyle Lewis also took three shots followed by Sergi Quixal and Bruecher who each took two shots.
 
First team all-conference goalkeeper David Windmiller stood on his head tonight. The fifth-year senior had seven saves on the night after Emmanuel attempted 13 shots. Converse took 12 shots, eight being on goal. Four of the shots were goals while the other four were stopped by Lions keeper Rodrigo De La Terga.
