CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Converse University Equestrian team had a great showing this past weekend and finished fifth overall on Sunday at the College of Charleston Showday.
On the first day of competition,
Sydney Shipp won the limit over fences even and Lauryn Garaux won the Pre-Novice event.
Neely Vander Ploeg finished second in the Novice event, while
Grace Baum placed second in the Open flat event.
Josie McDevitt placed third in the intermediate flat event to round out the Valkyries podium finishes on day one.
Shipp picked up her second win of the weekend with a victory in the limit flat event on Sunday. Garaux and
Heather Harris both placed second in the Pre-Novice event, while
Brooke Daniels finished third in the limit fences event and Baum finished with a podium in the Open flat event.
The Valkyries next show will be on February 4
th and 5
