Road Woes Continue for Converse

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Francis Marion on Saturday evening at Hartzler Field.  
 
First Half Notes:
  • 13th minute, Linsey Downey scored on a pass from Breesa Nawahine.  
  • Francis Marion outshot Converse 10-1 in the opening period of play.
  • The Valkyries made a trio of saves in the opening period, while the Patriots attempted four corner kicks.
  • Francis Marion was the more aggressive team in the first period of action, committing four fouls.
 
Second Half Notes:
  • In the 80th minute, Kaitlin Dansie received a yellow card.
  • Francis Marion outshot Converse 9-1 in the second half.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Daelynn Perry made 6 saves in the second period.
  • Both teams were even in corners (2) and fouls (6).
 
Next Up:
Converse will travel to Erskine this week to take on the Flying Fleet. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
