DUE WEST, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team defeated Erskine 3-2 on Wednesday evening at Huggins Field and snapped a two-game losing streak in the process.
Following an Erskine own goal in the 10
th minute of action, Converse freshman
Kiersten Schrawyer put the Valkyries up 2-0 with a goal in the 12
th minute of the contest. Erskine cut into the Valkyries led with a goal in the 34
th minute by Reagan Gibbs.
The Valkyries continued to hold onto the lead going into the halftime break. In the 54
th minute of the contest, Gibbs once again came away with a goal for the Flying Fleet. The game only stayed tied for a matter of moments, before

Olivia Brooks for the game-winning goal for the Valkyries in the 64
th minute of the game.
First Half Notes:
- 10th minute, Erskine scores an own goal to start the scoring for the game.
- 12th minute, Kiersten Schrawyer scores to give the Valkyries a 2-0 advantage.
- 34th minute, Reagan Gibbs scores to cut the Valkyries lead in half.
- The Valkyries made three saves in the opening half of action but were outshot 5-1 in the opening stanza.
- Erskine appeared to be the more aggressive team with eight first half fouls.
Second Half Notes:
- 58th minute, Gibbs scores the equalizer against the Valkyries defense.
- 64th minute, Hannah Chappell is given a yellow card.
- 64th minute, Olivia Brooks scores on a goal from Stephanie Cumez-Ortiz.
- Converse was out shot 4-1 in the second half but made their lone save of the period.
- Erskine won the corner kick battle 3-1 and the Flying Fleet appeared to be more aggressive with six fouls in the second half of action.
