SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Lees-McRae College on Wednesday evening at McCracken Field.
Converse (1-4-2, 1-1-0 CC) for just the second time this season was shutout by an opponent. The loss also ended a three-game unbeaten streak dating back to September 11
th for the Valkyries. Lees-McRae (4-2-0, 1-1-0 CC) earned their first road win of the season and their first conference win.
Lees-McRae got on the board early with a goal by Alexa Todd in the 9
th minute and was assisted by Gwen O'Brien. Later in the first period of action Averee Andrews scored an unassisted goal to give the Bobcats a 2-0 advantage.
First Half Notes:
- 9th minute, Alexa Todd scored on a pass from Gwen O'Brien.
- 27th minute, Averee Andrews scored an unassisted goal to give the Bobcats a 2-0 advantage.
- Lees-McRae outshot Converse 7-3 in the opening half and attempted four corner kicks.
Second Half Notes:
- Each team took a pair of shots in the second half and a total of three corner kicks were attempted.
- A total of seven fouls were made in the second period of action.

Converse will travel to Francis Marion this Saturday evening. The game will start at 5:00 P.M.
