The Series
Converse University and Chowan University will be meeting for the 11^th time in program history on Saturday afternoon at McCracken Middle School. The Valkyries currently trail in the series 4-6-1 and they will be looking to end a four-game losing streak to the Hawks this weekend. A win on Saturday would give the Valkyries their first win over the Hawks since the 2016 season. Last season, the Valkyries fell 5-0 to the Hawks on the road.

Converse Notes:

The Valkyries are coming off their second tie of the season on Wednesday evening against Emory & Henry College.
Ellie Gore scored the lone goal of the night for the Valkyries and she was assisted by fellow freshman Kiersten Schrawyer. Both were career firsts for Gore and Schrawyer.
The Valkyries outshot the Wasps 11-5 and 6-4 with shots on goal.
Daelynn Perry made a trio of saves in the second half and in overtime against Emory & Henry on Wednesday evening.
Converse has scored almost a goal a game this season and is averaging just over seven shots per game.
The Valkyries have recorded 18 saves and have attempted 12 corner kicks so far this season.
Kaitlin Dansie still leads the team with a pair of goals this season and leads the team in total points with three.

Chowan Notes:

Chowan is 0-4 overall to start the season and 0-1 in conference competition.
The Hawks are coming off a 5-1 loss to Catawba on Wednesday evening.
Sabrina Henderson scored the loan goal for the Hawks, as they were outshot 29-5 and 12-1 in shots on goal.
Allison Traub made five saves in the opening half of play to lead the team. Kirsten Peterson made just one save in the second half on Wednesday evening.
Chowan has scored just two goals this season and is averaging 5.8 shots per contest. The Hawks have recorded 38 saves and have taken just nine corner kicks.
Henderson is tied for the team lead in goals scored this season with one goal on the year. Henderson, leads the team in total points (2), total shots (6) and shots on goal (3).
