Volleyball Weekend Wrap Up: Pacer Invitational

AIKEN, S.C. – The Converse University volleyball team faced yet another difficult tournament schedule this weekend in Aiken, S.C.
 
Game One: Coker 3, Converse 1
  • In the second set the Valkyries recorded their best hitting percentage of the season at .682. The Converse offense was able to record 15 kills on 22 attacks and ended the stanza with 0 hitting errors.
  • Converse recorded 11 aces as a team and recorded 63 digs in the four-set loss.
  • Freshman Anna Rabon collected her third career double-double with a 10 kill and 15 dig performance. Besides leading the team in kills, Rabon, also, led the team in aces with four in the match.
  • Elizabeth Coffey and Kiara Cannon tied for the team lead in blocks with two each.
  • Savannah Ducote recorded a team high 16 assists and Madison Gregory finished right behind with 15 assists.
  • Elizabeth Yohe led the team with 20 digs in the four-set loss.
  • The Cobras had three players that ended the game in double-digit kills, Lauren Loveday (12), Chelsey Blume (11), Naomi Earl-Reyes (10).
  • Rami Mullen led the team with 21 assists, while Ashley Carson recorded 20 assists in the win for the Cobras.
  • Taylor Park led the team with 22 digs and Olivia Cerick added 15 digs for Coker.
 
Game Two: Limestone 3, Converse 1
  • Converse out blocked Limestone 5-4 in the four-set match.
  • In the third-set Converse hit a game high .268 with 13 kills in the period.
  • Kiara Cannon led the team with 13 kills and Elizabeth Coffey finished second on the team with 9 kills.
  • Madison Gregory recorded 32 assists in the loss, Elizabeth Yohe led the team with 19 digs in the loss. Mackenzie Day finished second on the team with 13 digs in the contest.
  • Josie Curran led the team with 24 kills and Vanessa Blas added 18 kills in the win for Limestone.
  • Paige Gardella posted a double-double with 37 assists and 14 digs.
  • Malina Harris added 21 assists and Madysen Williams just missed out on a double-double with 16 digs and 9 kills.
Game Three: Augusta 3, Converse 1
  • Anna Rabon almost had her four double-double of the year but finished with a 9 kill and 8 dig performance.
  • Jasmine Finkley finshed with 6 kills in the match and Kiara Cannon added 5 kills in the loss.
  • Madison Gregory led the team with 21 assists while Savannah Ducote added 7 assists in the loss.
  • Elizabeth Yohe posted a 23 dig performance and Kelsey Elliott added 7 digs.
  • Augusta had three players end the game with double-digit kills, Alexis Diaz-Infante (11), Alyssa Dutton (10) and Julie Archer (10).
  • Brooklyn Holthaus finished with a double-double, posting a 22 assist and 11 dig performance.
  • Samantha Zittrauer finished second on the team with 17 assists, while Holland Martin led the team with 12 digs.
Game Four: Lander 3, Converse 0
  • Jasmine Finkley led the team in kills (6) and blocks (3) in the final game of the weekend.
  • Anna Rabon and Kiara Cannon each added 5 kills in the loss.
  • Madison Gregory posted her second career double-double with a 13 assist and 11 dig performance against the Bearcats.
  • Elizabeth Yohe led the team with 12 digs in the match.
  • Sydney Bellamy led Lander with 15 kills in the match. Madilyn Reed led the team with 36 assists and Christina Aguayo had a team high 16 digs.
Next Up:
Converse will have a few days off before traveling to Mars Hill on Tuesday night. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
