BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Converse University field hockey team fell 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Bloomsburg University.
"It was an amazing game and despite what the scoreboard says it is the best game we have played all season," Converse University head field hockey coach
Valerie Clarke said.
In the opening half of play the two squads played to a stalemate with both sides testing the other teams defense. Then just moments into the third quarter the Huskies struck not once but twice to take a 2-0 lead. Arden Morgans struck first with an assist from Ayden McFarland and in the 34
th minute of action Alicia Carr scored off a pass by Sydney Rimmer.

rd minute of the contest
Lara Toranzo scored on a penalty corner for the Valkyries.
Bo Linders and
Catalina Pistaccio both picked up assists on the Converse goal. Toranzo led the Valkyries offense with a pair of shots on goal.
Lotte Kanters finished second on the team with a shot on goal in the first half of action.
First Half Stats:
- Both teams attempted just one shot in the opening half of action, with Converse attempting a shot on goal.
- Bloomsburg attempted 4 penalty corners in the opening half, while Converse attempted two in the opening stanza.
- The match was physical between both teams as Converse committed 19 fouls and Bloomsburg committed 20 fouls.
Second Half Stats:
- 32nd Minute, Arden Morgans scores on an assist by Aydan McFarland.
- 34th Minute, Alicia Carr scores off an assist from Sydney Rimmer.
- Each side attempted three total shots and a pair of shots on goal.
- Converse won the penalty corner battle as they attempted seven corners in the second half of action.
- The Valkyries also appeared to be the more physical of the two teams as they committed 36 fouls in the second half.

The Valkyries will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against Millersville. The game is set for a 12:00 p.m. start time.
