The Series
Converse University and Columbia International have only met once (March 25, 2021) in program history. The Rams got the upper hand on the Valkyries last season with a 2-0 win at Sessions Field. Tara Collins scored both goals for the Rams in the 70th and 89th minute of the contest between the two schools.

Converse Notes:
  • Kaitlin Dansie, Shaylah Youngdale and Kajsa Mertens were named Preseason Players to Watch by Conference Carolinas.
  • Danise and Youngdale return as the top goal scoring options for the Valkyries.
  • Dansie and Mertens anchor a stout backline for the Valkyries but head coach Scott Fogarty has played Dansie in a variety of positions over the past few seasons.
  • Youngdale looks to be a leader amongst the forward group after playing in every game last season and starting 10 matches for the Purple and Gold.
  • Cassidy Hall will take over goalkeeping duties this season after appearing in one game last season for Converse.
  • There are a lot of fresh faces on the roster for Converse this season with 19 true freshmen.

Columbia International Notes:
  • The Rams are 2-0 on the year with wins over Edward Waters (Fla.) and Carolina University.
  • Columbia International has outscored opponents 10-1 this season.
  • Mercy Berkemeyer and Tara Collins lead the team this season with two goals and four total points. Berkemeyer leads the team with eight shots and five shots on goal.
  • Mazzie Leos leads the team with two assists and is tied for second on the team with one goal. Leos is also tied for the team lead in total points with four on the season.
  • In just two games this season, Kayla Lusk as allowed just one goal on 10 shots. Lusk has made eight saves this season and has a .889 save percentage.
