Spartanburg, SC- Converse came into this game riding a two game win streak and progressing into form as they head into the latter half of the season. They have been riding strong defense as of late and that continued this evening. After over 245 consecutive minutes of carrying a clean sheet, spanning back over two games prior, the Crusaders were able to score and take a one goal lead that would go on to be the deciding goal for the match.
Anna Claire Albritton would put 2 shots on frame but was unable to beat the Crusaders keeper to bring the Valkyries to a draw.
Darian Bankston stood strong again in the net as she made 2 saves and directed a back line that was solid again although in defeat. This concludes Conference play for the regular season as they will not face a conference foe until the Conference Carolinas Tournament which begins April 18th.
On the Pitch: Converse will gear up for the Conference Carolinas Tournament with 2 non-conference matches upcoming. Salem University will travel to Spartanburg Sunday for a 1:00 Kickoff for the first match in that 2 game span.
