SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University women's soccer team fell 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to Southern Wesleyan University at McCracken Field.
Following a scoreless first half of action the second period was action packed with excitement by both teams. Just 45 seconds into the second half of Joy Namyst scored for the Warriors to break the scoreless tie. 12-minutes later

In the 59
th minute and the 66
th minute the Valkyries picked up a pair of yellow cards against the Warriors. In the 71
st minute of the game Giorgi Lamb passed the ball ahead to Cayla Hughes for the go-ahead goal for Southern Wesleyan. The Warriors picked up a yellow card in the 83
rd minute of action.
Gore led the Valkyries offense with a trio of shots in the contest, while freshman goalkeeper
Daelynn Perry recorded six saves in the match for Converse.

Converse will host King University this coming Tuesday evening. The game is set for a 5:00 p.m. first kick.
