Box Score BRISTOL, TENN.- Converse posted three goals in the first half as the Valkyries cruised to a 4-0 victory on the road against Conference Carolinas opponent King on Saturday afternoon.
Converse (3-2-1, 1-1) jumped on the board early thanks to Hallie Lycans scoring in the 13' off an indirect free kick over the keeper's head.
In the 27' the Valkyries scored off a free kick from Emily Barry. Barry sent a cross from 35 yards out and found Alex Marquez putting it in the right post.
Less than five minutes later the Valkyries' advantage swelled to 3-0 after Marquez sent a through ball up to Mariah Elliott for the easy score.
The Valkyries held King at bay in the second half as Converse tacked on another goal in the 85' by Julia Babic finding the lower left corner.
Josee Waitrovich picked up the win in net stopping all seven of the Tornado shots earning her second straight clean sheet.
Converse returns to the pitch on Tuesday September 20 against Conference Carolinas for Mount Olive on the road.
