Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Soccer team earned a shutout against North Greenville on senior night on Saturday evening to end the regular season in Conference Carolinas play, 3-0.
Before the contest we honored our six seniors: Julia Babic, Halley Wisner, Alex Marquez, Josee Waitrovich, Natalie Gilmore and Mariah Elliott.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Converse jumped on the board in the 10th minute off action as Sara Dorsett found a wide open Julia Babic in the middle of the box for the early 1-0 advantage.
In the 15th minute, Mariah Elliott was pulled down in the box and granted a penalty kick. Elliott ripped it towards the cage but the NGU keeper kept the initial shot out. Elliott would get a second chance but pushed it wide left.
NGU recorded a shot in the 23rd minute but was blocked by the solid back-line play of: Emily Barry, Riley Hartnett, Natalie Gilmore and Halley Wisner.
Converse headed into the half with a 1-0 lead.
The Valkyries started the second half strong recording four shot in the first minute of the half. Alex Marquez started the rally by hitting the cross bar. Sara Dorsett and Mariah Elliott had chances at the net but were blocked. Julia Babic finished the rally by missing just high.
In the 51st minute, Nicole Doolittle broke the school record for goals in a single season, scoring her 11th goal of the season after Alex Marquez streaked down the field on a breakaway and found Doolittle in the middle of the box.
Doolittle would add another in the 60th minute off the corner assist by Julia Babic. Babic curled the ball into the box from the left corner and found the head of Doolittle putting it over the outstretched arms of the NGU keeper.
Anna Aceto-Korn picked up her first collegiate win in net posting a shutout while recording one save.
UP NEXT
The Valkyries grabbed the sixth seed in the 2016 Conference Carolinas Tournament. Converse will travel to third-seeded Pfeiffer on Tuesday. The Valkyries dropped a 2-1 decision on October 19th against the Falcons on the road.
