Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse soccer team returned to form as the Valkyries shutout the visiting Brevard Tornados, 3-0, on their way to their fifth shutout of the season in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half
- Converse finds the back of the net in the 8th minute of action as Claudia Coffin stole a pass from the midfield and played it up to Nicole Doolittle. Doolittle would play the ball back out wide to Coffin, who would find Doolittle inside the box on a through ball and finishing the pass far post.
- Claudia Coffin would also find the back of the net midway through the first half. Mariah Elliott would send a shot that ricochets off the keeper and back to her. Elliott would slot the ball over to Coffin for the easy 2-0 advantage.
- In the 36th minute, Converse had two chances to push another goal across but were kept out by the Tornados' back line. Johanna Gelz had the first attempt followed by Sara Dorsett, both attempts were defensive saves.
2nd Half
- Converse picked up where they left off pushing their lead out to 3-0 in the 52nd minute. Mariah Elliott would lead the attack on a breakaway and found a sprinting Nicole Doolittle in the middle of the box for the goal.
- The Valkyries defense kept the Tornados attack away as Brevard registered their first shot in the 59th minute.
- Nicole Doolittle looked to add her third goal of the match in the 61st minute but was called for an offsides negating the goal.
- Converse outshot Brevard 25-4.
NEWS AND NOTES
- Nicole Doolittle notches her second multi-goal match of the season.
- Josee Waitrovich posted her sixth career shutout, marking the most shutouts in program history.
