Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA.- Converse soccer was able to find the back of the net twice in the opening half of action as the Valkyries cage the Lions of Emmanuel 2-0 in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday evening on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half
- Nicole Doolittle put the Valkyries on the board quickly for her third goal of the season. The strike came just 2:04 into the match marking the seventh fastest goal in program history.
- Ten minutes later, Doolittle puts the Valkyries up 2-0 after receiving the pass from Claudia Coffin.
- The Valkyries record six shots in the half with five on target.
- Mariah Rowdy picked up one save in the first 45 minutes of action.
2nd Half
- In the 69', Converse could not convert off the corner kick as the Valkyries had a few chances but couldn't get it through the congestion inside the box.
- In the 78', Emmanuel saw a chance with a corner kick by the Valkyries' back-line diverted the danger.
- Hallie Lycans ripped a shot towards the cage in the 84' but was saved by the Emmanuel keeper.
- Converse recorded three corners in the final three minutes of action but were unable to add to their lead.
- Emmanuel did post a shot on goal in the final minute of action but was easily saved by Mariah Rowdy to perserve the clean sheet.
NEWS AND NOTES
- It is the fourth shutout of the season, second for Mariah Rowdy.
- Third straight victory for Converse.
- Doolittle is tied for first with four goals this season.

Converse takes a step out of league play to take on Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday, October 4th. Kick-off is at 3pm. Last season the Valkyries won on the road 3-2, scoring two goals in the final 90 seconds.
