Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C.- Converse had a tough time putting the ball on frame against North Greenville on Friday evening. North Greenville scored late in the first half and kept the Valkyries off the board handing Converse their second straight defeat. Converse falls to 5-6 on the season and 2-4 in Conference Carolinas play. NGU improves to 5-5 overall and 2-4 mark in the league.
The Valkyries had a chance to find the equalizer in the 78' when NGU misplayed a ball in the box and ricocheted off the post but was cleared out of harms way.
Converse tallied 10 shots but three of those on frame. The Crusaders posted four shots with half of those on target. The Valkyries had eight corners on the evening but couldn't find the back of the net.
Darby Boyd (Nags Head, N.C.) finished the night with four shots. Ella Ritchie (Derby, England) recorded two. Georgia Jones (Solihull, England), Natalie Johnson (Leicester, England) and Halley Wisner (Rising Sun, Md.) tallied one shot apiece.
Savannah Humphries (Boiling Springs, S.C.) took the loss allowing the lone goal.
Converse takes a step out of Conference Carolinas play as the team face Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn. on Monday, October 12.
