Box Score BRISTOL, TENN.- Coming out of the locker room at half, Head Coach John Constable motivated his team to overcome a 1-0 defecit and post two goals in the first 3:33 seconds of the second half to defeat King 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Natalie Johnson and Avery Bechthold propelled the Valkyries to a 5-1 record overall and a 2-0 mark in the Conference Carolinas. King drops to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Avery Bechthold's (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) first goal of her career could not have came at a better time. Bechthold found the back of the net at the 47:19 mark for the equalizer going off the keepers hands and in. Bechthold finished the match with three shots, all on target.
Natalie Johnson (Leicester, England) also scored her first goal of the season making it a game winner in the 49th minute off a penalty kick, giving the Valkyries a 2-1 lead.
Freshman netminder, Joscelyn Wallace (Vancouver, B.C., Canada), picked up her fifth win in goal allowing one goal while denying seven shots.
The Valkyries' 5-1 start is the best under Constable. Converse picked up it's second come from behind win this season with the other coming in a 3-1 win over Mars Hill.
